Schuyler County
Solomon C. SWISHER and his wife, Rebecca T. VINCENT, came to Rushville from Marion Co, WV in the 1860's. George STRONG and his wife, Elizabeth LEWIS, came from Columbiana Co, OH in the late 1830's. Their son, John STRONG, married Elizabeth WHITEHEAD about 1840. William and Nancy TRIMBLE came from Ireland about 1847, first to Ohio, then to Rushville in the late 1850's. Their son, John Wm TRIMBLE, married Maggie STRONG. George SWISHER married Mae TRIMBLE in 1895 and they moved to Oklahoma City in 1905. There were many other descendants of the Swisher, Strong, and Trimble families in Schuyler County.
Shelby County
John BECKER and his wife, Elizabeth HENNAMAN, came to the USA from Hesse Cassel, Prussia, about 1862. They first settled in Indiana but came to Stewardson, IL in the late 1860's. The surname was sometimes anglicized to BAKER. Other surnames that married into this family are BRANDT, DEAL, DELBRIDGE, and REECE.
