This web page is established as a home for genealogical information on the GLENWRIGHT family.
From my research, it appears that the only place where the name Glenwright occurs before about 1750
is in a tight cluster of parishes in the western part of County Northumberland, England.
From what I have discerned so far, there were only about six (6) families carrying the
Glenwright name at that date, and I am working to sort them out. In the past 250 years
these families have blossomed tremendously. A count I made back in 1995 showed:
- 118 Glenwright families in England
- 33 Glenwright families in the USA, and
- 18 Glenwright families in Canada
- At least 3 or 4 families in Australia
Of course, that does not include the many of us, including myself, who share Glenwright descent
but who do not carry the name ourselves.
Please bear with me while I put up the information I have collected on the various branches
of the family. As I have a regular job, it may take some months.

Of course no information on living members of the family other than a list of descendants (without relationships)
will be published to respect your privacy. If it is unknown whether an individual is dead or alive,
we will not publish information on those born after 1910 or married after 1930.
