Notes for M
ARTIN LEON SWANNER:
Janet Weleb, as the source in the IGI, lists Martin Swaner as being born in St Francisco Co., MO. in 1832. He was a tall blonde man, but apparently according to his granddaughter Pearl Fitz, he suffered osteoporosis like his descendants. His death cert. (his wife was present) states that he was born in 1832 in Ohio. Neither source lists his father but the death cert. lists L.G. Hollmier as his mother.

At one time James and Betty Devore along with sisters Goldie DeVore and Pearl Fitts tried to find Martin and Leanna's graves. They were unsuccessful.

Notes for L
EANDER HALLMARK:
Pearl Swnner Fitz says that Leander Halmark Swanner was of Irish descent. This is VERY POSSIBLE!! She was a small dark woman. Margaret Winters Swanner described her as being "gypsy-like".

In an abstracted copy of LeAnna Halmark Swanner's death cert., Leanna's parent are listed as John Swanner from Sullivan and Icy Swanner from Tennessee. I know this can't be right., in fact I believe these are the names of her son and daughter-in-law. Due to the multiple deaths in this family all at once, were these infornmants in a state of confusion? Did they just misunderstand the question? Was a mistake made in the Sullivan Co., Health Dept. when they abstracted this info? I'm so confused!!! They also listed her as 88 years of age, but born May 20, 1882. This is obviously not right. Maybe the informant "Martaw Swammer" gave them his/her own parents and date of birth???
