      1. Samuel1 Slavens was born Abt. 1818 in Indiana1, and died Bef. 18602. He married Rachael Stewart Bef. 1841 in Indiana or Illinois3. She was born Bet. 1821 - 1822 in Indiana4, and died Unknown.

Also spelled Slavins or Slaven at times.

There is a William Stewart, four years older than Rachael with wife Prissilla Stewart living next door to Rachael and Samuel in 1850 in Richland Co. Both William and Prissilla were born in Indiana. There oldest child is one year older than Samuel and Rachael's oldest child and also born in Ill.

Notes for Rachael Stewart:
There is a William Stewart, four years older than Rachael with wife Prissilla Stewart living next door to Rachael and Samuel in 1850 in Richland Co. Both William and Prissilla were born in Indiana. There oldest child is one year older than Samuel and Rachael's oldest child and also born in Ill.

She was 37 when she married for the first time. A witness at the wedding was Martha T. Stewart and David A. Gillaspie.
Notes for John W. Harmon:
On their marraige cert, John is "of the Town of Busseron in the County of Knox in the State of Indiana" THIS IS THE SAME AREA THAT WILLIAM DEVORE WAS IN, AT THE SAME TIME!!

3 ii. James Henry Slavens7, born April 11, 1844 in Richland Co., Illinois died April 06, 1915 in Richland Co., Ill.10. He married (1) Angeline Smith September 23, 1869 in Richland Co., Ill.; born Bet. 1844 - 1845 in Illinois; died Bet. 1880 - 1881 in Ill., very prob Richland Co.. He married (2) Elisabeth Osborne August 04, 1881 in Richland Co., Ill.; born August 04, 1845 in Richland Co., Ill.; died December 12, 1911 in Richland Co., Ill..
Notes for James Henry Slavens:
No children apparent in 1880 Census. Catherine Curry is living with him and Angeline, relationship unk.
Notes for Angeline Smith:
She could have div. James instead of died, but I have found nothing to indicate that.
4 iii. Sarah H. Slavens, born Abt. 1845.
Notes for Sarah H. Slavens:
In 1860 not with mother, with Eliza Newson family. No records of marraige or death found unless this is the Ann Slavens who married William Sanford in 1876.
5 iv. Eliza J. Slavens, born Abt. 1847 in Ill., very prob Richland Co.. She married William A Farran April 04, 1867 in Richland Co., Ill..

not present with her mother in 1860. Not yet found.
6 v. John M. Slavens, born Abt. 1851 in Ill., very prob Richland Co. He married Susan Concannon July 02, 1876 in Richland Co., Ill.
Notes for Susan Concannon:
Is this the Mrs. Susan Slavens who marries John E. Wilson IN Sept of 1878? If so, how can her parents be Isaac Cheek and Martha Green. Lots of possibles, but no more facts.
