"George Sisson oldest son of Daniel & Fannie Sisson married miss Sarah Sylvester, school teacher and a wonderful scholler, & also a reader of many books. After they were married they went south & as he had studdied to be a druggist, he went into business there, and did well, till the war broke out in the South. Then he was taken as an enemie, because he was from the North, and would have bin hung to a tree (for that was what they did down south), hung them up as soon as they caught who they thought an enemie, but through the good friends they had made they were saved by leaving his goods & every thing only a few clothes for their baby girl (Eva) and following this friend up the river after night by a foot path through the woods, & brush. Kept under cover till they got where a skiff had bin prepared to take them across the river to safety. They came to McArthur & went into the drug business & lived there till he passed a way."

A G. W. Sisson was appointed as replacement to the chairman of the "Unconditional Union" Men of Western Arkansas, whose motion for northern sympathy was recorded in "The New Era" of Forth Smith, Arkansas.

Sarah's mother Amelia Seely (b. 1790) was the third wife of Revolutionary War soldier Joseph Silvester (b. 1755 Plymouth MA, d. July 1828 Rutland, OH).

Elihu and Alanson were twins. Elihu and Alanson operated a barge together. Elihu was a teacher in Jackson, Ohio, about 1859. He was boarding with the McQuality family and met Harriet there. Harriet also became a teacher. The family moved to Indiana in 1882.

Elihu also owned and operated a small coal mine in Ohio.

Elihu and Harriet had three sets of twins. One set died in infancy.

Isaac Sisson was recommended for a foreign service job as Consul in Mexico by Rep. John Ketchum. Isaac's address at that time was Lithgow, Dutchess Co., NY. Isaac was appointed as Commercial Agent in Mazatlan, Mexico in 1866. He went there and became Consul later. While there he married Dominga Padilla and had two children. Isaac became ill and left Mazatlan in 1874 and never returned to Mexico. The children's grandparents, the Padillas, raised the children. The 1880 census of Dutchess Co. NY shows Isaac with wife Helen and one child Jacob, age 1 year.

Isaac married (MRIN:10908) Dominga PADILLA-29411 in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Isaac also married ( 2:MRIN:2332) Helen HENRY-6798 after 1874. Helen was born about 1852 in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Helen was a sister of Martha Henry, wife of Isaac's brother Lemuel.
