1637. Charles Trott SISSON-1008 (Freeborn , Freeborn , Gideon , George , George , Richard ) was born in 1833 in Elmira, Chemung Co., New York. He died in Waco, Mc Lennan Co., Texas.

I did not note in what later issue the replacement appeared. Charles Trott Sisson is listed as a clerk in the LaSalle County, IL, 1850 census. He was a first lieutenant in the Nora Home guards at the outbreak of the Civil War. He is listed with Van Dusen and Sisson in 1869 in Chicago. His residence was 20 S. Ann. He is listed as "traveling sales" with Root and Cady in 1870, with various addresses and businesses between 1884 and 1894. In 1871 "the family" (Charles and his wife Stella? one or more of their children?) moved to Austin, TX, where Charles was a music dealer. According to the Sisson Newsletter, v. 5, no. 1, page 18, "Ray and Lucille Olson have found additional information in the Bible of John Sisson Jr. (listed originally in v. 4, no. 2, page 4). Ray's book on this line was expected to go to the publisher in January 1991." According to The Sisson Newsletter, v ? #1 p 13, John Sisson Jr served in the War of 1812 and was awarded claims of $77.50 and $68 for personal property "worn out, lost, or destroyed" in the War. He and his family lived in Crown Point, Essex County, New York. Reuben J. Sisson bought land in Washington Township, [county?], New York, whic land he sold to W.M. Sherwood on Feb 7, 1849. He also bought land in Edinboro, PA, from his father in 1849.

According to The Sisson Newsletter, v 4 #2 p 6 and v 6 #1 p 14, Hiram Sisson was born in "Corwall" [Cornwall?], Addison County, Vermont. The legal papers fo his father's estate were sent to Hiram in Severance, Essex County, New York. All of Hiram and Eliza (Johnson) Sisson's children were born in Crown Point, New York. Probate letters were issued for Hiram 3 Oct 1865 (Book C, p 59) with son George W. Sisson administrator. Zera Sisson was born in Crown Point, Essex County, New York, across the river from Cornwall, Vermont. Zera's will, dated July 17, 1865, mentions a 4 1/2 acre lot in Sheridan, New York, a house and other outbuildings. The will mentions hi wife Julia and names heirs: sons Hiram, Zera, Benjamin, and George, and daughte Melissa, and grandchildren Frank P Stokes, Jennie Sperry, children of Mercy Ann Frank J Sisson and Hattie Sisson, age 7, daughter of son John by his second marriage. George Washington Sisson is an ancestor of the publisher of the Sisson Newsletter, David H. Sisson, of Livermore, California. George and his wife Sall lived in Edinboro, Erie County, Pennsylvania, in 1849, and later in Porter, Roc County, Wisconsin. He is listed in the 1850 census as "B. clergy" [Baptist clergy?]. The 1850 census lists George Washington Sisson 36, Sally 40, Jane 15, Hannah 6, Judson 4, and Andrew 2. The 1860 census lists Sally 48 and George 8.

George married (MRIN:648) Sally Ann SCOFIELD-5539, daughter of Levi SCOFIELD-12907 and Hannah IDE-12908 (MRIN:2617), on 23 Aug 1834. Sally was born on 9 Oct 1809. She died on 26 Mar 1868 in Wisconsin.

Hulda Sisson and her husband Silas (or Cyrus) Buckman lived in "Severan." Sila is mentioned in Crown Point assessor's rolls in 1835, which also list a Polly Sisson, a widow born in 1771 in Vermont [she was actually born in Sommers, CT], in the household [ed. According to the Sisson Newsletter, v.3, no.1, Hulda Sisson's husband Silas (o Cyrus) Buckman "is mentioned in Crown Point [Essex County, New York] assessor's rolls in 1835, which also list a Polly Sisson, a widow born in 1771 in Vermont, in the household [ed. John Sisson was a farmer and at some time transported immigrants from Dunkirk, New York, to Warren, Pennsylvania. In 1825 John and Amanda (Waite) Sisson moved to Dunkirk. John and Amanda have also been reported as having two more children Lillian born about 1827 who married July 17, 1847, Joel H.Green (according to the "Fredonia Censor"), and Charles F. of Gowanda, NY, who married Alice Hubbell, and was killed in the Civil Sar May 14, 1862.
