Benjamin Sisson's Sisson ancestors and their wives were mostly Quakers, but Benjamin married Sally Ferris, "a woman outside the faith," and was debarred from the church.

Benjamin married (MRIN:831) Sarah Sally FERRIS-5011 in 1813. Sarah was born in 1790. She died on 8 Apr 1877 in Brant, Erie Co., New York. She was buried in Brant Cemetery, Brant, New York.

1188. Daniel SISSON-1258 (Nathaniel , William , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born on 11 Nov 1792 in Glenns Falls, Warren Co., New York. He died on 10 Aug 1863 in Collins, Erie Co., New York.

Daniel Sisson died on 10 Aug 1863 according to the Bible of "S.S. Allen, Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania." His death is also reported in 1864. Daniel has been reported married to Sara Ann Haviland who was in reality his daughter-in-law, his son Daniel H.'s wife, and (the father) Daniel has been reported as the father of Daniel H. and Sara Ann (Haviland) Sisson's daughter Minnie, who was of course his granddaughter. Thanks to Charlotte Chavez for pointing out these errors.

Daniel married (MRIN:829) Prudence ALLEN-5018, daughter of Cornelius ALLEN-11785 and Esther-13566 (MRIN:2415). Prudence was born on 30 Sep 1800. She died on 4 Apr 1859.

After his mother Prudence's death, Samuel Allen Sisson inherited the family Bible of Samuel S. Allen, his mother's brother. He probably recorded much of the Sisson information therein, but there is no indication of his marriage or children. Samuel lived in Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

According to records in the family Bible of S.A. Allen and S.A. Sisson, Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, James Sisson was born 29 Feb 1799, but of course there was no Leap Day that year. William Richard Cutter's "Genealogical and Family History of Northern New York" says James was born 29 Feb 1800 in Queensbury, New York. (New York: Lewis Historical Pub Co, 1910, p 923). "First Families of America" (p 419) says he removed to Glens Falls, Warren Co., NY, merchant; built 2nd brick house."

James married (MRIN:828) Gulialma Shaw WING-3608, daughter of Joseph WING-12873 and Irene PHELPS-12590 (MRIN:1847), on 11 Jun 1826 in Glens Falls, New York. Gulialma was born on 11 Dec 1802 in Glenns Falls, Warren Co., New York. She died on 19 May 1858 in Glenns Falls, Warren Co., New York.

1192. Lemuel SISSON-1254 (Nathaniel , William , Jonathan , James , Richard ) was born on 5 Oct 1802 in Queensbury, Warren Co., New York. He died on 22 Aug 1881 in Bristol, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin.

Lemuel Sisson went to Collins with his brothers where he paid tax of 92 cents on 48 acres in 1823. This was the southeast portion of Lot 60, Township 6, Range 8.  Lemuel went to Iowa about 1840 and then to Bristol, Kenosha County, Wisconsin. He was a Quaker and a farmer worth $1500 in 1880.

E. Howland's "Historical Sketch of Friends in Cayuga County, NY, 1795 to 1828" says that Perry and Elizabeth Sisson were received from Westport in 1816.
