Land of freedom! Land of light!

Ottie married (MRIN:10196) William Randall RISHER-27545, son of William RISHER-27598, on 24 Feb 1886. William was born on 26 May 1865 in Pennsylvania. He died on 17 Oct 1933.

The 1900 census for William R. Risher shows him living with his wife, three daughters and one son, Will's birth in Pennsylvania, May 1864, age 35, married 14 years, mother born in Ireland, occupation retail merchant, able to read, write, and speak English, and owning his own home free of mortgage.

John Moore's father, Nicholas Altenweg, was born 11 Feb 1835 in Liesenich, Rhineland, Germany. Nicholas came to the US in 1852 as part of a forced migration of indigent citizens from five towns in Rhineland. When he arrived in the US, Nicholas took an anglicized version of his mother's maiden name (Mohr became More). He went by Nicholas More for the rest of his life. Margaretha Denhard immigrated to the US in 1859 and married Nicholas More in 1860 in NY. By 1864 they were settled in Sidney Center where Nicholas was a butcher for several years. Nicholas died 26 Jul 1905 in Unadilla, NY. Margaretha died after 1910 in Sidney, NY.
