Philip Franklin Sisson [8] is not listed with his father's family in The Sisson Newsletter, v 5 #5 p 5, and v 5 #4 p 14, but v 7 #4 p 14 clearly indicates that his father is Philip Sisson III [7], son of Philip Jr. [6], son of Philip [5], son of Thomas [4], son of Richard [3], son of James [2], son of the immigrants Richard and Mary Sisson [1]. Philip Franklin Sisson started a sash-and-blind factory and in 1877 converted it to an organ-and-piano business, located on the northeast corner of State and Corn Streets in Ithaca, New York. In 1885 he went bankrupt and later started a merchant and tailor business at 135 East State Street, which he sold to his son William in 1903. In 1882 he was "the thirty-ninth president" of Ithaca. He may be the "Frank Sisson" also listed as a son of Philip Sisson, Jr. Frank may have had one or two siblings named Frank or Francis/Frances Sisson (the latter a female according to the seemingly more accurate information gathered from a descendant), but Philip Franklin Sisson is apparently the Frank Sisson given by a collaterial descendant. His birth date and place is given as October 1839 in Seneca Falls, in the Sisson Newsletter, v 5 #4 p 14.

He moved to Big Rock, Illinois, in 1865. He may be the Charles Sisson listed in the Chicago City Directory in 1890 and 1894.
