Lorna Berry wrote on 11 Sep 2000 to say "Mary Juliet Sisson wed Nathaniel C. VARS at 2:00 p.m. 5 April 1854 at St. Mary's Church, Portsmouth. It was a Wednesday; Rev. Daniel C. Millett presided. It was a pleasant day. How do I know? My great-great-grandfather George Manchester attended the wedding after being elected representative to the RI General Assembly at the Town Meeting that morning! He mentions it in his journal. Nathaniel Vars was of the Vars family who owned the Bristol Ferry House in Portsmouth. I have a smattering of Vars information, but unfortunately nothing on who Mary Juliet's parents were. My g-g-grandfather was a descendant of Phebe (Sisson) Albro."
