Alexander and "Bertie" came to Kansas in 1884 from Ohio, settled first in Sodville Twp about halfway between Kingsdown and Ford, Kansas, later known as the Glover School District.

Interment at the New Marshfield Cemetery. Alexander was a veteran of the Civil War serving for 18 months in Company T, 60th Ohio Valley Infantry. He was a member of the Christian Church.
