William Thadeus Sisson's middle name is the same as his father-in-law's first name. Need to verify. William served in the US Navy during the Civil War, and served on the USS Mattabasset, the USS Shamrock, and the USS Eolus. Most of the time he was sick. He received a pension due to a lung weakness.

Philip Petty came to New York in August 1858. He served in the Civil War in the 12th Pennsylvania Volunteers and the Co. A, 136th Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry.
