In the minutes of the Jefferson County Court, Fayette, Mississippi, for July 2, Monday, 1832, appointment of road overseers was announced. The following entry lists Eldridge Sisson as a neighbor:
"Patrick Norris, Overseer, from on the State road from the forks near John J. Norris to John Tullis' plantation with his own hands, Mrs. Norris' hands, Lane Norris, Eldridge Sisson, Jane Sisson, Stephen and William Harmon and Nelson Newman assigned to said road."
Eldridge's birthdate is given as 1780, in Mississippi, in the reference "Census of pensioners for Rev. military services", Washington, DC, 1841:151, Vol. 154, Page 406. The 1850 census gives Eldredge's age as 62 (b. 1788).
In the same reference, Vol. 92, p. 261, Solomon (or Isaac?) Johnson, born 1761 in Mississippi, is listed as living in the household of Eldridge Scissan in township Jefferson, Mississippi.
Eldridge Sisson is recorded twice in the 1830 census in Jefferson County, Mississippi (as Eldridge Cisson). On p. 40 (Ancestry.com image 27 of 38): males: 1 under 5; 2 age 5-10; 1 age 10-15; 1 age 30-40; 1 age 60-70; females: 1 age 15-20; 1 age 30-40; 1 age 40-50. On p. 35 (Ancestry.com image 17 of 38): males: 1 under 5; 2 age 5-10; 1 age 10-15; 1 age 40-50; 1 female age 30-40.
Eldridge Sisson is listed in the War of 1812 Service Records, in Lt. Col. Neilson's detachment, Mississippi Militia.
