1787 Henry County Will Book No. 3 Sept 10th: James Elkins sold to Josiah Bryant for 20 pounds current money, 100 acres of land lying on the Smith River, the land that the said Elkins' family lived on. Description same as land bought the year before.

JAMES is the Rev. soldier) (Both are in Washington Co., VA. 1785) NOTE* CS- DRURY ELKINS here in Kentucky is more than likely the same DRURY that is probable father of my WILLIAM. From census records dating 1800 to 1840, we assume he was born c1760. His daughter, MARTHA ELKINS married Samuel Stogdill at Clark Co., KY. Jan 1, 1799 so this is more than likely one and the same. He would be too young in 1792 to have sons this old.

1774 Aug 3 - ROWAN COUNTY NC Abby Alkins to George Gunter North & South Carolina Early Marriages -

1779 June 3rd - CHATHAM COUNTY, NC - Joshua Elkins married Martha Womack, daughter of Britain Womack. Martha stated in her husband's Land Warrant report, she was married June 30, 1780?? The marriage bond gave the date of 1779. Elkins Research Workbook 1988, by Stultz p169. Joshua Elkins' Revolutionary War record. He died 22 June 1821, "by a clap of thunder" sitting by his fireside. He was bc1756/7? His birthplace isn't given within this document? His widow, Martha (Womack) Elkins, died after Sept 29, 1855 as she was living when the warrant was executed. Her age then would have been about 94 years old. (see this warrant 1843 Chatham Co NC)

1784-1787 MONTGOMERY COUNTY, NC - Richard Ellkins is on State Census (see EFEN Vol 2 No 1, page 5)

1780-1790 (county unknown), No Carolina, Eli Elkins, son of Richard Elkins (bc1761 of VA) was born, (per Norma J Blasdel of Enid, OK) the father, Richard died 26 April 1838 at Davidsonville, Coffee Co, TN. (EE Vol I No 1 Pages 16-17) later cited in EE Vol IV N o4 Page 101.

1790 ELKINS, JESSEE, of 1778 Henry County, VA, the son of Nathaniel Elkins the Virginia Revolutionary war soldier; We find Jesse in 1790 Burke County, NC. (CS/I found this in our Virginia chrono., however, is there an error? The only Burke County, NC listing we show, is Gabriel Elkins?? We do find him in 1800).
