In her Bogue Genealogy "Descendants of John Bogue" by Flora Bogue Deming, c1944, pp 143-44, Deming says "the author received records from this family (George Chase Bogue) while on a visit to California in 1925; also from Alice Arletta (Bogue) Detweiler. Received records from Samuel Russell Bogue, Jr., and Mary Bogue Alden of Rochester, NY." The brief telegram Ione sent from Detroit, MI, to the New York Times upon Russell's death from an illness, stated that "there were no children," so it appears from Deming's information, published in 1944, that "Samuel Russell Bogue, Jr." was the same person as Samuel Russell Bogue, and the Jr. an error. Alice Arletta (Bogue) Detweiler was probably a cousin or two removed.
