I love this amazing picture. He looks so very handsome in his dashing hat and uniform. What a sad thing that he was killed in battle. His wife applied for a pension and the files have a lot of information about the family.

"I got it from Lillian, my 1st cousin once removed. She was my mothers' 1st cousin. My mothers' mother, my grandmother, was a daughter to Rebecca P. (Vantine) Copper. Her father was John L. Vantine and of course William was his father." --gsehly
