Benjamin Fulkerson was very close to his brother, Richard. Benjamin and Richard married sisters, Mary 'Polly' and Clarinda Moore, respectively.

Benjamin has been found buying and selling land in Shenandoah and Rockingham County, Virginia several times between 1803 and 1813. Sometime around 1814 Benjamin moved his family from Virginia to Butler County, Ohio. His brother, Richard, was to follow Benjamin to Ohio within the next year or so.

Between 1814 and 1818 Benjamin bought several tract of land ranging from 30 to 50 acres in Butler County, Ohio.

Apparently Benjamin either turned deathly ill or was possibly injured in the later part of 1818. In his will written in November of 1818 it is written that he was in "low health but sound in mind." He died shortly after the will was written. Probate on his estate was begun eight days after the will was written. He died in Liberty Township, Butler County, Ohio on November 11, 1818.

Benjamin's wife, Polly, died August 8, 1833 in Hamilton, Ohio.

Benjamin and Polly are buried in a small abandoned family cemetery near Hamilton, Ohio. Benjamin's marker is in very poor condition and only partially readable.
