This Book is intended as my Will or (sic) Testament.

Book of Accounts With my children -
So far as I entend (sic) it as a part of their legacy Given in my life time which -

This Book made and accounts entered this first day of January 1812 in part -

All which I herewith give is given to my daughters and their issue or offspring and if any them (sic) should die without issue or offspring in that case whatever I may have given is to return to be divided among my heirs and it is my wish that all my children shall have one equal part but my wish is that at my death my Wife shall have the exclusive right to do with all my estate as she pleases as long as she may live, and she shall not be compelled to divide with, or part with any part to the children only as she pleases.

Saml IRELAND who married Nancy Foster BARTLETT to One negro girl Charity at the time given worth two hundred Dollars, she was about eleven years old at that time, the price of property varies so much that it is hard to make an equal estimate. To one mare and colt worth eighty Dollars, one bed & furniture worth forty Dollars, one cow and calf worth ten Dollars, five sheep worth seven Dollars and fifty cents one hundred acres of land worth two hundred Dollars, one negro Boy Tom ten years old worth when given two hundred and fifty Dollars.

Joseph THOMASSON married Patsy BARTLETT the 6th day of December 1821. I have Patsy $1000 worth of land I got of Isham HENDERSON, one negro Woman worth $600 one horse worth $120 one bed & furniture $40 one cow $10 sheep worth $10.

John FORE (sic) who married my Daughter Polly, at the time he married her she was Polly H. PRINGLE is charged with the property below. But if Polly his wife never has issue or children to live the property is to return to be equally divided amongst other children at her death - (T W) To one negro Hannah worth at the time given $300. To one mare and colt $100 To one Bed and furniture $40 To one cow & calf $10 five sheep $7.50, One hundred and ten acres of land worth $1000.00 - Swapt lands with John FOREE December 1st? 1813 and take his land at five Dollars per acre and he is to give me $10 pr acre for what he gets the quantity not known, but all over the Frankfort road he is to have - the coo? in the land he is to be charged with the land last let John FOREE have contains 98 � acres at $10 pr acre makes $985 and said land John and Polly is to have their life time only ~

Thomas P. COATES married Lucinda BARTLETT 15 May 1817 ~
I gave him a negro girl Sarah the 19th worth $400
at this time she is 17 years old
One Bed and furniture worth $40
One hundred acres of land worth $1200
To one Horse worth eighty Dollars
One cow and calf $10
6 head of sheep 9

Gave Jos. THOMASSON 77 � acres of land worth $1500
Abby a negro woman worth 600
Horse worth 100
One Bed & furniture 40
One cow & calf worth 10

David Lawson LUCKETT married to Huldah BARTLETT June 18th 1818
To property given on the Terms mentioned heretofore
To America worth three hundred Dollars age was eleven years old when given
To one house and lott in New Castle worth $1000
One mare worth $70
Cow and Calf 11
Bed and furniture 40
Swapt one hundred and ten acres of land for the House and Lott even
6 Head of sheep 9
Gave David L. LUCKETT America negro girl 12 years old worth $300

Given under my hand this first day of June 1822 ~

Henry County February Term 1825.
The Last Will and Testament of James BARTLETT Descd was this day produced into Court proven by the Oaths of John COWAN, Rowland THOMAS, Thomas SMITH, Thomas M. BUCKLEY and Robert SMITH to be in the hand writing of said James BARTLETT both as to the hand writing [struck through] drafting of said Will and the Signature thereto, which is ordered to be Recorded.
