This indenture made this ninteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one, between James BARTLETT of the County of Jefferson and the State of Kentucky of the one part and Henry KINISTER and Paul HARBOURT of the same county and state of the other part, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and eighty four dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he the said James BARTLETT doth hereby acknowledge and confess himself fully satisfied and paid hath given granted bargained and sold and be these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said KINISTER and HARBOURT his[their] heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county and state aforesaid and on the waters of Floyds fork bounded as follows to witt- Beginning at a large white oak corner to Lucy DAVENPORT thence with her line S 70 E 37 � [poles] to a white oak and beech in said line, thence S 20 E 136 poles to a red bud, ironwood and white oak, thence N 70 W 40 poles to a poplar and walnut, thence to the beginning to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land to them the said KINISTER and HARBOURT their heirs and assigns forever clearly and freely exhonerated from all former bargain of sale right or dower and all other right or title whatsoever and the said BARTLETT doth for himself and his heirs forever defend the said tract or parcel of land unto the sd KINISTER and HARBOURT their heirs and assigns forever from all and every person or persons whatsoever having or lawfully claiming or to claim the same and the said James BARTLETT has good right of lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid- In witness whereof the said James BARTLETT hath heareof [sic] set his hand and affixed his seal this day and year first above written.

I Worden Pope clerk of the Jefferson County Court in the State of Kentucky do certify that on this day James BARTLETT the grantor came personally before me in my office & acknowledged and delivered the foregoing deed as & for his act and deed and that I have recorded the said deed in my office.
