24 Dec 1805 William Davis was appointed guardian of 3 orphan children named Sally Crossland, Lucinda Crossland & Joshua Crossland. Isham Davis, Sr. was security.

Note: These are the children of Joshua Crossland, deceased, and Elizabeth Davis of Halifax County, NC.

Joshua Crossland, Died before 23 June 1807 when Jessee Holt was pd $180. for boarding and clothing the 3 orphan children, heirs of Joshua Crossland, deceased for 3 years past.

And that Moses Hart be appointed overseer of the road from the top of the ridge between McBride's Creek and Noah's Fork to the fork of the road near Mrs. Patton's and have all the hands on the Crossland Branch waters to William Crossland's, including said Crossland, John Patton and C. Rainwater.

Agreeable to the prayer of a portion of the citizens of the neighborhood of Beech Grove, It is ordered by the Court that the following persons be appointed a Jury to View and lay off and mark a road from Jesse Shelton's to Beech Grove; William S. Watterson, William Crossland, James A. Brantley, James Keele, William McMichael, John G. Walker, John Bailey.

Ordered by the Court that William Crosslin be appointed overseer of the Stage Road from the Creek below Jonathan Webster's to the line of the Second District and to have the bounds of hands as follows (viz) All of the waters of Crosslin Branch so far up as to include all the hands on Mrs. Patton's farm with the exception of the farm of William Gibson and James Keele.
