W. J. Crosslin Passes Today
William J. Crosslin, Route 1, passed away at 11:45 this morning. He had been ill for four months. Mr. Crosslin was born February 13, 1863 in Aberdeen, Mississippi. He was married to Elizabeth Blackwell October 24, 1895 in Vanita, Oklahoma. In 1916, they moved to a ranch on Neil Creek south of Ashland. Mr. Crosslin was a member of the Ashland Christian Church. His survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, children, Floyd, Clarence, Ashland; John, Keno, Mrs. Fred Penniston, Portland, brothers, John, Yuma, Arizona, Frank, Gurdon, Arkansas, sisters Mrs. Emma Daniels, Amity, Arkansas, Ola Smart, Gurdon, Arkansas, and ? grandchildren. Services Set For Mrs. Crosslin
Mrs. Elizabeth Crosslin, 85, a well known resident of Ashland for the last 40 years died Monday at the home of her son, Floyd, 368 Bridge Street. She had made her nome with her son and his family in recent years her husband preceding her in death in March of 1942. For the last several years she had been in failing health. Mrs. Crosslin was born Sept. 19 1871 in Bedford County, Tenn. Funeral Services will be held in Litwiller's Mountain View Chapel Thursday, Sept 19, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Thompson officiating. Committal will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Survivors inclde sons Floyd and Clarence Greely Crosslin of Ashland, a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Pennison of Portland, and a son, John Crosslin, of Keno, along with 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
