William F Crosslin,
Obituary, Clark County, 19143

Obituary from the Confederate Veteran, February, 1915

W.F. Crosslin was born in Wilcox County, Ala., April 11, 1836, and died in Clark County, Ark., on December 13, 1914, after a short illness, aged seventy-eight years.  He joined the volunteers in Monroe County, Miss., April 10, 1862, and was first under Capt., Sam Gholson and afterwards under Capt. B.F. Lamb.  He took part in the battles of Atlanta and New Hope, Ga., Corinth and Vicksburg, Miss., Franklin, Tenn., and was captured at Nashville on December 15, 1864.  He was paroled July 1, 1865, and returned to Mississippi, later making his home in Clarke County, Ark.

Arkansan Killed in California Accident

Gurdon, Feb. 1 - Frank Crosslin, aged 64, of Okolona, was killed at San Pedro, Cal., when struck by an automobile.  Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Fay Williams of Glenwood and Mrs. Lennie Kelly, Mrs. Bertha Spradlin and Mrs. Albert Kelly of Okolona; a son, Charles Crosslin of New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Daniels of Star City and Mrs. Oma Smart of Gurdon and a brother, John Crosslin of Millsap, Tex.  The body will be brought to Okolona.

Mrs. J.A. Crosslin, 81, 1502 W. 23rd, died last night in a Little Rock hospital.  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.R. Williams, Gurdon, and Miss Mattied Crosslin, Little Rock, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday in Rosehill Cemetery, Gurdon.  Murry's Funeral Home, Gurdon, will have charge of services at the grave.

Ada (Presley) Crosslin,

Mrs. Frank Crosslin

Mrs. Ada Presley Crosslin, aged 73, died March 28 at the Clark County Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.  She was the daughter of the late Tom and Alice Smart Presley.  She was born January 6, 1882 near Okolona and had lived here almost all her life.  Recently she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hari Kelley.  She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church near Okolona.  She was married in 1901 to Frank Crosslin who preceded her in death by several years.  Survivers include a son, Charlie Crosslin, three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Williams, Glenwood, Mrs. John Kelley, Okolona, and Mrs. Henry Collins, Texarkana; a brother, B.F. Presley of Shreveport, La., and four sisters, Mrs. Will Davis and Mrs. Tom Spradlin of Okolona, Mrs. Annie Yarbrough, Gurdon and Mrs. Malcom Johnson of Michigan and several grand and great grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at the Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. K.T. McAfee, pastor of the Okolona Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with burial in the Bethel cemetery by the Murrys of Arkadelphia.
