Memorial Drawing For Claire Jury

Memorial Drawing For Claire Jury

Amanda drew this picture shortly after returning from New York. Amanda's "Amma" got sick with lung cancer and passed away on April 28, 2002. My mother was born and raised in upstate New York and it was on the old homestead land that we took some of her ashes to spread beneath a apple tree that my grandfather, Fred Jury had planted in honor of his father, George Jury after he had crossed over. Claire's loving family members surrounded one another with love while we gathered at the tree in her honor. A stone was bought by RoseMary and John, my cousin's and placed at the base of the tree. The stone reads as follows: "If tears could build a bridge and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you back again."

This picture is Amanda's way of remembering how special that day was to all of us who were there. She and her sister were brave, big girls who helped their mama spread grandma's ashes around the apple tree. It was a magical day, filled with love for a beautiful lady and for one another. You taught my girls well, Mom. Thank you for the grace and dignity you bestowed upon us.
