Josiah Melton was the son of Elisha E. Melton and Minerva Shelton, who married 6 Feb 1842 Henderson County KY. Margrett "Texana" King was the daughter of Thomas King and Jemima Cozart. |
Josiah and Margrett married 18 Dec 1878 Webster County and became the parents of five children. Four more children died as infants and are buried near them: Thomas A. Melton, Emily F. Melton, William E. Melton, and Fredrick Melton. Their daughter Minnie Melton Hollis is buried here, as is daughter Blanche B. Melton. Their daughter Allie Walker's infant son, Cleatus Walker, is also buried here.After Josiah's death in 1897, Margrett married Sidney H. Marshall 9 Oct 1902 Webster County.
