William H.H. Bridwell and Sarah Elizabeth "Bet" Thornberry were the 2-great-grandparents of Carole Palmer. William and Sarah married 21 Oct 1860 Webster Co, in one of the first marriages performed after the formation of the county. Sarah was the daughter of Russell K. Thornberry and Emeline Poole; Sarah's sister Ann Eliza married William's brother, James Bridwell.

William and Sarah had eleven children and were married fifty-eight years when William died in 1918. Sarah died in 1924 and they are both buried at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole.
