George Samuel Timmons, 1853-1919, was the son of John Timmons, 1827-1917, and Sarah Jane "Sallie" Hancock, 1827-1904. The family's 1860 Webster County census listing can be seen online. Gusta Crowley was his second wife.

George S. Timmons married Frances Albena "Allie" Edwards, 1856-1905, in 1876 in Webster Co., KY and they had seven sons, including Andrew, John and Henry. After Allie's death, George S. Timmons married Augusta "Gusta" Crowley Padgett, the daughter of George Washington Crowley and Mary Virginia Mounts.
