The Joseph Muher Bridwell Family Joseph Muher Bridwell was born 1867 in Webster Co., the son of John Presley Bridwell (1827-1882) and Mary Jane Rawley. He married Mariah Elizabeth Jones 9 Mar 1888 in Hamilton Co. IL. This photo, taken about 1902, pictures Joseph and Mariah with their children. In the rear (l-r) are daughters Nettie May (1889-1909) and Mary Elizabeth (1889-1935), who married Emory Elijah Cochran; standing between Joseph and Mariah is son Chalon Elmos (1894-1973), who married Mary Katherine Kearney.

On Joseph's right is son James Alvey (1898-1969) who married Olive Cecelia Cotey; and at his mother's knee is son William Hubbard (1900-1977), who married Ella Virginia Crutchfield. Three children died shortly after birth and a ninth child, Virgil Gray Bridwell, was born in 1906 in Paul's Valley, OK. Virgil Gray Bridwell married Margaret Pearl Kearney 20 Apr 1924 in Claremore OK and they are the parents of Ralph Bridwell , who contributed this photo.
Mariah Elizabeth Jones Bridwell was the daughter of Silas Jones and Elizabeth McIntosh, who lived near McLeansboro, IL. Mariah died in 1907 in OK and Joseph married Ida Kimberlin Martin, by whom he had two more children, Joseph Kimberlin Bridwell (1908-1983) who married Maxine Neighbors Knight; and Howard K. Bridwell (1911-1982), who married Opal ?
Joseph Muher Bridwell died 17 Jun 1928 and is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Rogers Co, OK.
