He accompanied Matthyse Hendrickse Smock (2000) and Elizabeth Stevens Coninck (2001) when Matthyse and Elizabeth relocated in 1718 and came to reside in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey. He appeared on the census of 1726 in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey; listed as a Freeholder. He witnessed (or was recognized by) the probate of the estate of Gertrude Smock (3300) on 8 December 1738; Her brother, Hendrick, was administrator of the will. He witnessed (or was recognized in) the will of Charles Fontaine (2608) on 1 March 1742/43 in Somerset County, New Jersey; Mentions that Jan Smock is the wife of his sister Lea. Antje Van Duyn (3305) was also known as Fonteyn. Van Duyn may have been a Dutch pronunciation of the locally common Van Teyn, or Fonteyn, or Fontaine, a Hugenot who entered the dutch community. She was born circa 1703. He married Lea Fontine (2021), daughter of Charles L. Fontine (2022) and Magdaleentje Reynerse (2582), circa 1730 in Somerset County, New Jersey. He died in April 1760 in Somerset County, New Jersey. His estate was probated on 29 April 1760 in Eastern Precinct, Somerset County, New Jersey.

He was recorded as a surveyor of highways in 1749. He left a will on 1 March 1760; Names wife Leah, sons "Tice", Charles, John, Reynier, Jacob, and Abraham, and daughters Leenah, wife of Powel Powelson, Elizabeth, Maria, Leah, "Geertie", Catherine and Jane.

Lea Fontine (2021) was also known as Leah Fonteyn. She was also known as Leah Fontaine. She was born in 1708 in Somerset County, New Jersey. She died after 1760 in Somerset County, New Jersey.

11. Lucas3 Smock (2027) (Matthyse Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1) was born circa 1705 in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey. He married Jannetje (--?--) (3239) before 1738. He married Mary Ketchem (3298) after 5 May 1747; New Jersey records indicate a marriage on 15 Nov 1752, but David L. has baptisms records showing father Lucas, mother Mary, and child Jannetje and the year is 1747. The previous child named Jannetje is baptised by her father alone. He married Mary Ketchem (3298) on 15 November 1752 in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey; The official church marriage. However the couple had a child baptised in Jul of 1749. There might be a previous Civil Marriage?12,22 He died before 1 March 1783 in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey. His estate was probated on 1 March 1783 in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey.

He left a will on 10 July 1778; Names wife Mary and children Henry, Lucas, Josiah, Robert, John, Elizabeth Applegate, Jane Stricklin, Lydia Smock, and Anna Smock.

Jannetje (--?--) (3239); I assume this marriage for Lucas. His brothers are well documented in the Raritan Church, so I assume the Lucas of the Raritan Church, of the same time frame is this Lucas. And this is his wife per those same baptismal records was born circa 1707. She died before 5 May 1747; Her last child with Lucas was baptised without her present.

He married Maritje Buys (2531), daughter of Jan Buys (3249) and Sytie (--?--) (3327), circa 1736 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. He died on 11 May 1791 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

Maritje Buys (2531) was born on 17 October 1716 in New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York.

13. Jacobus3 Smock (2031) (Matthyse Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1)4 was born circa 1712. He married Margrietje Corson (3299), daughter of Jacob Corson (3689) and Ariante (--?--) (3690), circa 1732.12 He died before January 1772 in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey. His estate was probated on 2 January 1772 in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

Margrietje Corson (3299) was born circa 1714. She married Jacob De Mott (3691) before December 1772.

14. Hendrick3 Smock (2033) (Johannes Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1)4 was born on 16 October 1698 in New Utrecht, Long Island, New York. He married Mary Gerrettse Schenck (2034), daughter of Garrett Roelofse Schenck (2035) and Neeltje Coerten Voorhees (2036), in 1721 in Holmdel, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He died on 30 May 1747 at age 48. His estate was probated on 7 October 1747; Brother Barnes was the executor.27

He accompanied Johannes Hendrickse Smock (2002) and Catherine Barents (2003) when Johannes and Catherine relocated before 2 February 1705 and came to reside in Staten Island, Richmond County, New York; Listed in local records as "Hannes, Assessor, West." He appeared on the census of 1706 in the household of Johannes Hendrickse Smock (2002) in Staten Island, New York; In the census, his age is noted as "33", men over 16 are "John Smak", under boys are "Hendrak Smak," Barnt Smak," and "John Smak," and under girls "Anne Smok" and "Catherine Smok", and under women "Catherine Smok." He relocated 1712 and came to reside in Monmouth County, New Jersey. He accompanied Johannes Hendrickse Smock (2002) and Catherine Barents (2003) when Johannes and Catherine relocated in 1712 and came to reside in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Mary Gerrettse Schenck (2034) was born on 1 November 1699 in Flatlands, King County Long Island, New York. She witnessed (or was recognized in) the will of Hendrick Smock (2033) before 30 May 1747; Names wife Mary, children John, eldest son, Catherine, and Nelly Lane, and as executors Cornelius Vanderveer, Barrents Smock, and Garret Schank. She died on 1 September 1747 at age 47.

15. Barnes3 Smock (2040) (Johannes Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1)4 was born on 16 February 1700 in New Utrecht, Kings County, New York. He married Annatje Luyster (2500), daughter of Captain Cornelius Luyster (3694) and Sarah Nevius (3695), circa 1725.5 He died after 1 April 1773.

He was also known as Barent Smock. He was also known as Barrents. He accompanied Johannes Hendrickse Smock (2002) and Catherine Barents (2003) when Johannes and Catherine relocated before 2 February 1705 and came to reside in Staten Island, Richmond County, New York; Listed in local records as "Hannes, Assessor, West." She was also known as Joanna Smock. Her married name was Tunison. She appeared on the census of 1706 in the household of Johannes Hendrickse Smock (2002) in Staten Island, New York; In the census, his age is noted as "33", men over 16 are "John Smak", under boys are "Hendrak Smak," Barnt Smak," and "John Smak," and under girls "Anne Smok" and "Catherine Smok", and under women "Catherine Smok." She was also known as Gertruide. As of circa 1720, her married name was Johnson.

Coert Jansen (3215) was born in 1689 in Long Island, New York. He accompanied Andres Janson (3216) when Andres relocated after 1689 and came to reside in Whitehouse, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. He died in 1772 in Johnsonburg, Warren County, New Jersey.

Children of Charity3 Lane (2496) and Coert Jansen (3215) both born in Readington Reformed Church, Readington, Somerset County, New Jersey, were as follows:

20. Leendert3 Smock (2916) (Leonard Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1)4 was baptized after 1697 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. He married Sarah Van Zandt (3680) circa 1716. He married Saertje Dewitt (3989), daughter of Barnet Dewitt (3990) and Sara Van Tassel (3991), on 19 January 1727/28 in Montgomery Township, Somerset County, New Jersey.29 He died before 1755; His mother's estate only mentions brother John and sister Sarah as living at this time.

He witnessed the baptism of Leonard Smock (3770) on 11 November 1716 in Freehold Dutch Reformed Church, Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He witnessed the baptism of Leonard Smock (2009) on 15 April 1730 in Sourland Dutch Church, Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey.

Sarah Van Zandt (3680) was born circa 1697. She witnessed the baptism of Leonard Smock (3770) on 11 November 1716 in Freehold Dutch Reformed Church, Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Saertje Dewitt (3989)29 was also known as Sarah Dewitt. She was baptized on 30 March 1708 in the Sleepy Hollow Church, Phillipsburg, Westchester, New York. She witnessed the baptism of Leonard Smock (2009) on 15 April 1730 in Sourland Dutch Church, Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey.

There were no children of Leendert3 Smock (2916) and Saertje Dewitt (3989).

21. Barent3 Smock (3682) (Leonard Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1)4 was born after 1697. He married Maretje Beuis (3683) before 1730. He died before 1755; His mother's estate only mentions brother John and sister Sarah as living at this time.

22. Sytie3 Smock (2006) (Leonard Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1) was born after 1697. She married Joris Boice (3123) circa 1717.

She witnessed the baptism of Johannes Smock (3685) on 29 March 1732 in Sourland Dutch Church, Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey. She and John Smock (2008) evidently had a disagreement over the settlement of their mother's estate, which was adminstered 2 May 1755 in the court in Somerset, New Jersey. The minutes state that Sara Smock, relic of Leonard, deceased, died leaving considerable personal estate and one son and one daughter, Sytie Boice. The said son John Smock had sold part and was in possession of the remainder and had refused to administer the estate, claiming the whole of it. Sytie, and her husband George Boice, were advised to apply for letters of administration, and they were so appointed by the court on 2 May 1755 in court, Somerset County, New Jersey.

Joris Boice (3123) was also known as George. He was baptized on 4 March 1694 in Brooklyn, New York. He witnessed the baptism of Johannes Smock (3685) on 29 March 1732 in Sourland Dutch Church, Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey.

23. Sarah3 Smock (2007) (Leonard Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1);4 was baptized on 18 July 1710 in the Dutch Church, Six Mile Run, New Jersey. She married William Clausen (3124) before 1734. She died before 1755; Her mother's estate only mentions brother John and sister Sarah as living at this time.

William Clausen (3124) was also known as William Klason. He was born circa 1708.

24. John3 Smock (2008) (Leonard Hendrickse2, Hendrick Matthyse1) was born after 1718; In the will of his father, John is mentioned with "John, at 21" meaning he was not yet at the age of majority, 21, at the time. He died on 3 March 1791.
