wali de Zaragoza Fortún Banu Qasi

b. circa 725
The marriage of the Banu Qasi founder to the daughter of the Emir of Cordoba would merit significant attention in the foundation legends, and yet not a word has been said by the author closest to the time in question, one ibn Hazm.1 Wali de Zaragoza Fortún Banu Qasi was descendant of a Visigothic noble, a certain Cassius, who apostatized from the Christian Church and set up an important Islamic dynasty in the region, known as the Banu Kasi. That he named his son Musa, while possibly hinting at a connection to Musa ben Nuseir's family, may only have reflected a naming after the local lord or king.1 Chief of the Banu Kasi (Quasi) Family. He was born circa 725. He married 'A'isha bint 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Musa ben Nuseir el-Bekir, daughter of 'Abd al-Aziz ibn Musa al-Makkiyya; Undocumented and without proof.1,2

"This "Rodrigo Rodriguez de Lara" is a genealogical fiction, invented by Salazar y Castro to link Sancha Rodriguez, who he wrongly thought to be a de Lara, with Rodrigo Gonzalez. (Earlier reconstructions made Sancha daughter of Rodrigo Gonzalez, but chronology demanded an additional generation.) In fact, Rodrigo Gonzalez and Sancha Alfonso had two children, a son who entered the church, and a daughter married to the Count of Urgel, as his second wife. By her, the Count of Urgel had a son who died without issue, and a daughter married, as second wife, to the Count of Haro. By her, the Count of Haro had one known son, who in turn had one known son, at which point the line fades into the minor nobility. There are no known descendants of Sancha beyond this point." - taf.2 Rodrigo Rodriguez de Lara (genealogical myth) was born in 1123.1,3 He was the son of Rodrigo González "el Franco" and infanta de Castilla Sancha Alfonsez.1 Rodrigo Rodriguez de Lara (genealogical myth) married García de Azagra, daughter of Rodrigo Perez de Azagra and Toda Lopez de Alagon, before 1167.1,3
