He served in the American Revolution, serving as a private circa 1777.1 He recieved a grant of 357 acres for his service in the Revolutionary War in 1787 at Trousdale County, Tennessee.1 He taxed for 1 poll and shown as in Captain Looney's Company in 1794 at Sumner County, Tennessee.5 He relocated to Stalcup's Hill, Trousdale County, Tennessee, in 1796. He died in 1819 at Smith County, Tennessee, at age 77 years. Private William Stalcop was buried in Stalcup Cemetery, Smith County, Tennessee.6

In 1774, Jacob Hollinshead Sr. appeared on the census at Chester Township, Burlington County, New Jersey.6

"To him (Jacob Sr.) we are indebted for much of the genealogical data of the family which he gave in 1818 in an interview had with him by Asa Matlack. His affiliations in early life and at the time of his marriage were with the Church of England as were those of his family - the Rudderows being identified with that denomination. He subsequently became a member of the Society of Friends and a minister among them." In 1818.5 He died on 19 December 1819 at "12,19,1819", Burlington County, New Jersey, at age 87 years and 3 days.1

     Honorable Jacob Rush was born on 31 December 1746 at Byberry Township, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of John Rush and Susanna Hall. Honorable Jacob Rush was educated in 1761 at West Nottingham Academy, Rising Sun, Maryland. He was educated in 1765 at Princeton, New Jersey; Receiving his Degree there. He was was said to be a man of firm character and considerable eloquence. He was was described as '...is at least two feet more globular than he was twelve months ago," by a collegue of his on 21 May 1767. He married Mary 'Polly' Rench on 17 November 1777. Judge of the Court of Common Pleas between 1806 and 1820. Jacob Rush, seems to have been rather overshadowed by his brother. He was graduated from West Nottingham Academy in 1761 and from Princeton in 1765. At college he was regarded as a budding parliamentarian. A college-mate wrote of him: 'You will please present my very best compliments to Master Rush. I desire to keep on amicable terms, at least, with that gentleman, for you know he is to be the speaker of the Hon. House of Commons. For my part, I think he bids fair to fill a large two-armed chair, as Sergeant tells me he is at least two feet more globular than he was twelve months ago.' (W.J. Mills, editor, Glimpses of Colonial Society and the Life at Princeton College, 1766-1773, by One of Class of 1763, William Paterson, Philadelphia, 1903; letter of May 21, 1767.) He studied at the Middle Temple 1771 (letters to BR, Rush mss.), was deputy secretary of Congress in 1777, and was admitted to the bar in 1777. Before the adaptation of the Pennsylvania constitution of 1790 he was one of the judges of the High Court of Errors and Appeals. From 1806 to 1820 he occupied the less prominent position of judge of the Court of Common Pleas. He published several volumes on legal and religious topics and is said to have been a man of firm character and considerable eloquence (Scharf-Westcott, II, 1531-1532). Was also a noted author and lawyer. Lived at 'Rush Hill' All of his daughters died before age 20. None ever married. Honorable Jacob Rush died on 5 January 1820 at Greene County, Pennsylvania, at age 73 years and 5 days.1

     Sergeant, Monmouth Militia. Sgt. John Poland was born on 25 May 1754 at Monmouth County, New Jersey. Denys Smock witnessed the will of Hendrick Smock on 29 November 1746; Identifies Hendrick as a farmer, names wife Antje, children Elizabeth, Hendrick, Dennis, and Ann, all under age but Elizabeth, mentions a home farm of 131 acres in Bound Brook, and names wife Antje as sole executrix. Denys Smock married Deborah (?) before 1763.1 Denys Smock died on 18 September 1823 at age 81 years, 11 months and 7 days. "He died in his 83 year."1 Denys Smock was buried in the Smalley Farm Burying Ground, directly opposite the intersection of the road leading to Middlebush village, Someset County, New Jersey.2
