Hendrick Janszen Selyns accompanied Niesje van Rijckels when Niesje relocated between 1572 and 1578 and came to reside in Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands; After the success of the Dutch Republican arms, liberty began to dawn in Holland, and exiles again returned. Hendrick Janszen Selyns lived on 25 November 1589 at the Halsteege (Market Alley), in a house called "Maestricht", Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands.1 Marriage banns for Hendrick Janszen Selyns and Susanna Verclocken were published on 25 November 1589 at the Reformed Oude Kerk, Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands; "Hendrick Selyns, a laken kooper (bed linen dealer), aged 29 years, residing in the Halsteeg, in the Maestricht, assisted by Hendrick Cock, his brother-in-law, and Susanna Verclocken, aged 22 years, residing in the Warmoesstraet in the Meerminne, assisted by her father, Hans V(er)clocken."1 Hendrick Janszen Selyns was was, like his father, an importer of silk and cloth before 1598 at Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands. He was was a Deacon in 1598 at the Reformed Church, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands. He witnessed the baptism of Hendrik Webber on 3 July 1601 at the Reformed Nieuw Kerk, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands; "Parents, Wolfert Webber, Anneke Cockx; witness, Jan. Chelijn."3 Hendrick Janszen Selyns was was painted in portrait which hangs in the "Rijks Museum" in Amsterdam, Catalog No. 127, Sketch 389c (see: De Roever: Oud Holland, 1887, pg. 4). He died on 15 January 1606 at Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands, at age 45 years, 10 months and 8 days.1,4

     Peter Maverick, Vicar of Awliscombe was born circa 1550 at Devonshire, England.1 He was the son of Robert Mavericke.2 Peter Maverick, Vicar of Awliscombe was Peter Bull alias Maverick, ordained as a deacon on 15 January 1573/74 at Awliscombe, Devonshire, England.1 He was Peter Maverick alias Bull, ordained as a priest on 17 May 1574 at Awliscombe, Devonshire, England.1 He married Dorothy Tucke on 7 November 1577 at Awliscombe, Devonshire, England.1 Peter Maverick, Vicar of Awliscombe was Peter Maverick alias Bull, clerk, admitted to the perpetual vicarage on 3 November 1580 at Awliscombe, Devonshire, England.1 He brought suit against William Champneys, the record of which has been of the utmost importance in compiling the Maverick pedigree, in 1612 at Devonshire, England.1 He died before 3 February 1616/17 at Devonshire, England. He died a violent death prior to 3 Feb 1616/7 when John Hassard was instituted vicar in his place.1

Agnietgen Jans Selyns was a Deaconess in the church at Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands.4 She witnessed the publication of marriage banns of Hans Lenaertz and Marritgen Kock on 6 November 1593 at the Reformed Oude Kerk, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands; "Hans Lenaertz. born in Coellen [Cologne, Nord Rhein, Westfalen, West Germany], aged 23 years, assisted by Lenaert Lenaerts, his father, and Caerl Lenaerts, his uncle, and Maritgen Cocks, aged 22 years, assisted by Heinrich Cocks, her father, and Niesgen Cocks, her mother."7 Agnietgen Jans Selyns witnessed the publication of marriage banns of Justen de Beyer and Sara Koch on 18 July 1609 at the Reformed Oude Kerk, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands; "Justinus de Beijer, born in Nijmegen, and Sara Jans [sic] Cocx, born in Amsterdam, aged 18 years, assisted by Niesken Heyndrix (Niesken Jans), and Hans Lenaerts, her brother-in-law."7 Agnietgen Jans Selyns left a will on 25 May 1610. She witnessed the baptism of Barbera Webber on 30 August 1612 at the Reformed Oude Kerk, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands; "Parents, Wolfert Webber, Annetgen Kock; witnesses, Angnieta Ceijns, Heinrick Kock."8 Agnietgen Jans Selyns died on 4 November 1617 at Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands, at age 66 years, 2 months and 10 days.3,4
