While a council was being held in Nottingham, he entered the castle by night, through a subterraneaen passage, took Mortimore prisoner, and had him executed. Edward had discreetly ignored his mother's liaison with Mortimore and treated her with every respect, but her political influence was now at an end. Edward was now to rule as well as to reign. On 26 August 1346 at the Battle of Créçy, Normandy, France.20 Edward III, King of England was a witness where Ralph, 1st Earl of Stafford created Earl of Stafford by his 6th cousin, 2x removed, King Edward III on 5 March 1349.12 Edward III, King of England was a witness where Henry, "of Grosmont," Duke of Lancaster created Duke of Lancaster by his 1st cousin, 1x removed, King Edward III on 6 March 1350.12 Edward III, King of England was a witness where Lionel, "of Antwerp," Duke of Clarence created Duke of Clarence by his father, King Edward III, on 14 September 1361.12 Edward III, King of England was a witness where Edmund, "of Langley," Duke of York created Earl of Cambridge by his father on 13 November 1361.12,21 Edward III, King of England called a Parliament and summoned his Barons in 1365.12 He was a witness where Michael, Lord de la Pole, 1st Earl of Suffolk summoned to Parliament as Lord de la Pole by Edward III in 1365.12 Duke of Aquitaine, restored at France between 1372 and 1377. Edward III, King of England was a witness where Edmund "the Good Earl" de Mortimer, 3rd Earl of March shown favor by Edward III who allowed him to marry Philippa, daughter of the King's second son, Lionel, in 1376. Edward III, King of England died on 21 June 1377 at Sheen Palace, Richmond, Surrey, England, at age 64 years, 7 months and 8 days.      John, Lord Maltravers was the father of Joan FitzAlan de Arundel; the elder daughter of John FitzAlan, Lord Arundel, and Alianor Maltravers.3 John, Lord Maltravers was the younger son of Alianor of Lancaster and Richard FitzAlan.4 He was of Betchworth at Surrey, England.4 He was born after 1346 at England.5 He was the son of Richard "Copped Hat", 14th Earl of Arundel and Eleanor of Lancaster.2 John, Lord Maltravers married Alianor Maltravers, daughter of John, Baron Maltravers and Gwenthlian (?), on 17 February 1358/59 at England.6,7 Marshall of England in 1377.8,7 John was summoned to parliament on 4 August 1377 as "Johanni de Arundell" by writs, whereby he may be held to have become Lord Arundel.4 He commanded a naval expedition in aid to the Duke of Brittany, defeating the French fleet off the coast of Cornwall.8 He died on 15 December 1379 at the Irish Sea. He died testate at sea, being wrecked and drowned in the Irish Sea.8,7 John, Lord Maltravers was buried in Lewes Priory, England.8

He married Sybil de Pateshull, daughter of Sir John de Pateshull of Bletsoe and Mabel de Grandison, before 1336/37.3,4 Roger, 1st Baron Beauchamp of Bletsoe was described as a king's yeoman on 15 March 1336/37.5 He and Sybil de Pateshull were granted a yearly allowance on 15 March 1336/37.5 There is ample evidence that Roger de Beauchamp was active by the mid-to-late 1330s.6 Roger, 1st Baron Beauchamp of Bletsoe was granted for life the remainder of the manor of Bloxham on 1 March 1337/38 at Oxfordshire, England.7 He was again described as a king's yeoman on 1 March 1337/38.7 He was described as Sir Roger de Beauchamp, the queen's bachelor, and granted for life the keeping of her castle of Devizes on 25 October 1340.8 He died in 1379/80.1,4

Edmund "the Good Earl" de Mortimer, 3rd Earl of March attained the the further earldoms of Ulster and Connaught through his marriage to Philippa. He was shown favor by Edward III who allowed him to marry Philippa, daughter of the King's second son, Lionel, in 1376. He died on 27 December 1381 at Doninican Priory, Cork, Ireland, at age 29 years, 10 months and 26 days. Killed.3,2

     Eleonore de Aragón was born in 1358.1 She was the daughter of Pedro IV "le Ceremonieux", rey de Aragón and Eleanor de Sicile.2,3 Eleonore de Aragón married Juan I, rey de Castilla y León, son of Enrique II "el Bastardo", rey de Castilla y León and Juana Manuel, Senora de Escalona, Penafiel y Villena, on 18 June 1375 at Soria.4 Eleonore de Aragón died on 13 August 1382 at Cueller at age 24 years.1
