Isabelle's father assisted the Count of Flanders, Philip of Alsace, against the desires of Philip of France who wished to annex Flanders to the French kingdom. He married Adelaide de Lorraine, daughter of Matthäus I, Herzog von Ober-Lothringen and Bertha von Schwaben, in 1162?2 Hugues III, duc de Bourgogne was co-ruler with Beatrix, dauphine de Viennoise, comtesse d'Albon; Countess of Vienne.4 Duke of Burgundy at France between 27 September 1162 and 1192.5 Hugues III, duc de Bourgogne married Beatrix, dauphine de Viennoise, comtesse d'Albon, daughter of Guigues V Dauphin, comte d'Albon & de Grenoble and Beatrix von Montferrat, on 1 September 1183 at Saint-Gilles, Languedoc, France; His 2nd. Her 2nd (widow).3,6 Count of Vienne at France between 1183 and 1192. Hugues III, duc de Bourgogne participated in the 3rd Crusade between 1188 and 1192.7 He died on 25 August 1192 at Tyre, Palestine, at age 44 years. He died while on the 3rd Crusade.2,3 He was the predecessor of Eudes III, duc de Bourgogne; Duke of Burgundy.5 Hugues III, duc de Bourgogne was buried in Citeaux, France.3
