Perry) in 996 at Kent.¹⁴ She appeared in the will of Ælfflæd, which read, in part "... [land] at Woodham, Essex, to Ælfthryth, the king's mother, for life, with reversion to St Mary's, Barking" in 1000.¹⁵ She died on 12 November 1002 at Wherwell, England, at age 57 years.      Gunnhildr Haraldsdóttir of Denmark married Pallig (?).⁴ Gunnhildr Haraldsdóttir of Denmark was born circa 960. She was the daughter of Haraldr Blåtand Gormsson, King of Denmark and Tove of the Wends.^2,1,3 Gunnhildr Haraldsdóttir of Denmark died on 13 November 1002 at the St. Brices Day Massacre, Danelaw, England. She was killed when King Ethelred ordered the massacre of all Danes in England.^1,2

     Graf im Ardennengau Giselbert von Lothringen was a younger son of Grafen Siegfried von Luxemburg and Hadwig von Lothringen, daughter of herzog Giselbert.¹ He was born circa 970.¹ He was the son of Siegfried I, Graf im Moselgau and Gräfin von Luxemburg Hedwig von Lothringen.¹ Graf im Ardennengau Giselbert von Lothringen died on 18 May 1004 at Pavia, Lombardy, Italy. He was slain in battle. Per "Notae Necrologiae Coufungenses: Giselbertus, frater Chunigundis imperatricis, Papiae occius obiit."¹

Adélaïde d' Aquitaine died in 1006 at age 61 years.⁵

     Earl.² Also called Elfhelm of Northampton.² Ealdorman of Northumbria Ælfhelm of Mercia was born circa 938. He was the son of Wulfrun, Noblewoman of Mercia.¹ Ealdorman of Northumbria Ælfhelm of Mercia was born circa 940. He witnessed the will of Thegn Wulfric Spot of Mercia before 1002; Made a will giving his lands to his brother, son, and daughter. Ealdorman of Northumbria Ælfhelm of Mercia died in 1006. He was killed by Eadric Streona, who blinded his two sons. This murder prompted his daughter to have her husband, King Canute, execute Eadric.¹ He was a witness where Eadric Streona, Ealdorman of Mercia killed Ælfhelm, ealdorman of Deira and brother of Wulfric Spot, and blinded his two sons in 1006.^3,4

     Gottfried I "der Gefangene", Graf von Verdun also went by the name of Count of Verdun Godfrey I "the Captive" of Verdun. Also called comte de Verdun Godefroid I "le Captif" de Verdun.² He was the son of the Ardennergaugraf Gozelo und and Uda (Oda) von Metz, daughter of Graf Gerhard I.¹ He was born between 935 and 940.¹ He was the son of Gozelo, Graf im Ardennengau, Graf im Bidgau and Uda vom Metzgau.¹ Count in the Bid and Mething Valleys between 959 and 960.¹ Gottfried I "der Gefangene", Graf von Verdun married Mechtild Billung, daughter of Hermann I, Herzog von Sachsen and Hildegarde von Westerbourg; Her 2nd (widow).¹ Count of Hainault at Belgium before 965.¹ Count of Verdun at Lorraine, France, before 965.¹ Margrave of Eenham (Antwerp).^1,3 Gottfried I "der Gefangene", Graf von Verdun was mentioned by Alpertus Mettensis, whose description of him “iam senio confectus et aegritudine ita deprehensus...ut vix pedibus incederet,” corresponds to the advanced age the Prisoner must have reached at this time in 1006.⁴ He died between 1006 and 1010.⁴ He held the western mark around Antwerp in 1008.⁴

     Bischof von Brixen Albuin von der Ostmark was born circa 945.¹ He was the son of Markgraf in Kärnten Albuin von der Ostmark and Hildegarde (?).¹ Bischof von Brixen Albuin von der Ostmark died on 5 February 1006.²
