Annals of the Four Masters 941: "Muircheartach of the Leather Cloaks, son of Niall Glundubh, lord of Aileach, the Hector of the west of Europe in his time, was slain at Ath-Fhirdiadh by Blacaire, son of Godfrey, lord of the foreigners, on the 26th of March. / Muirchertach na c-Cochall c-Croicenn, mac Néill Glúnduibh, tighearna Oiligh, Eachtair Iarthair Eorpa ina aimsir, do mharbhadh oc Ath Fhir Diadh lá Blacaire, mac Gofradha, tighearna, Gall an 26 Febra."      Herzog von Schwaben Hermann I von der Wetterau was the cousin of Konrad I, Herzog von Schwaben; agnatic first cousin twice removed of Duke Hermann I of Swabia.2 Herzog von Schwaben Hermann I von der Wetterau was born between 898 and 900.1 He was the son of Herzog von Lothringen Gebhard II "der Jüngere" von der Wetterau and Ida (?).1 Herzog von Schwaben Hermann I von der Wetterau was the successor of Burchard II, Herzog von Schwaben; 1st Duke of Swabia.3,4,5 Herzog von Schwaben Hermann I von der Wetterau succeeded Burkhard I to the duchy of Swabia in 926. Duke of Swabia at East Frankish Kingdom, Frankish Empire, between 28 April 926 and 948.3 He married Regilinde, Herzogin von Schwaben, daughter of Eberhard I, Graf im Zürich- und Sülichgaus and Gisela, Gräfin im Zürichgau, in 927; Her 2nd (widow).6 Herzog von Schwaben Hermann I von der Wetterau witnessed the death of Gislebert, duc de Lorraine on 2 September 939 at Echternach, Luxembourge; Following a victory in Echternach, he was set upon by Herman of Swabia, who was defending Empteror Otto I's interests. He drowned in the Rhine River while fleeing.7 Herzog von Schwaben Hermann I von der Wetterau caught enemies of his Emperor, Otto I, killing Eberhard of Franken, and seeing Duke Gislebert of Lorraine drown while fleeing on 2 September 939 at Echternach, Luxembourge, the Duchy of Lorraine.8 He slew Herzog von Franken Eberhard von Franken in battle on 2 September 939 at Echternach, Luxembourge, the Duchy of Lorraine; Caught celebrating a victory Duke Giselbert of Lorraine, he was killed by the Duke Herman of Swabia, who was supporting the Emperor Otto I, and killed. Gislebert drowned in the Rhine while fleeing.1,8 Herzog von Schwaben Hermann I von der Wetterau died on 10 December 949.1

Chronicle of Ystrad Fflur 949: "In this year king Hywel Dda ap Cadell the head and glory of all the Britons died."11 He died in 950 at age 63 years.4,2,12,13 Annals of Ulster 950: "Hywel, king of Wales, dies. / Oel, ri Bretan, moritur."13 "In the perspective of the Dark Ages he was a powerful prince, and it may be that later generations borrowed his personal authority to buttress their own power."8 "Like his grandfather, Rhodri the Great, Hywel was given an epithet by a later generation. He became known as Hywel Dda (Hywel the Good), although it would be wrong to consider that goodness to be innocent and unblemished. In the age of Hywel, the essential attribute of a state builder was ruthlessness, an attribute which Hywel possessed, if it is true that it was he who ordered the killing of Llywarch of Dyfed, as some have claimed."8 He was the predecessor of Brenin Deheubarth Owain ap Hywel Dda; King of Deheubarth.14
