Sytie Smock witnessed the baptism of Johannes Smock on 29 March 1732 at Sourland Dutch Church, Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey. Sytie Smock and John Smock were evidently had a disagreement over the settlement of their mother's estate, which was adminstered 2 May 1755 in the court in Somerset, New Jersey. The minutes state that Sara Smock, relic of Leonard, deceased, died leaving considerable personal estate and one son and one daughter, Sytie Boice. The said son John Smock had sold part and was in possession of the remainder and had refused to administer the estate, claiming the whole of it. Sytie, and her husband George Boice, were advised to apply for letters of administration, and they were so appointed by the court on 2 May 1755 at court, Somerset County, New Jersey.

Maria Smock accompanied Private John Smock Sr. when John relocated between 1768 and 1770 and came to reside in Conewago, York County, Pennsylvania. As of 1779,her married name was Schamp. Maria Smock married Pvt. George N. Schamp, son of Nicolaes Schamp and Antje Aten, on 5 February 1779 at the Dutch Reformed Church, Conewago Colony, York County, Pennsylvania; Married by the Rev. Cornelius Cozine.1 Maria Smock was a witness where Pvt. George N. Schamp took an ad out in the 25 Aug 1790 edition of the Pennsylvania Gazette written from his home on 30 June 1790 at Hilsborough township, Somerset County, New Jersey. Maria Smock lived circa 1792 at the Conewago Colony, York County, Pennsylvania. She became worried and fearful due to famine and indian raids so she hired Isaac Huff to bring her with the colonists to their new home circa 1794 at Mercer County, Kentucky.3 She married Evert Bice on 9 March 1798 at Mercer County, Kentucky; Her 2nd (divorcée).1,2

John Smock married Femmetje Teunison on 21 May 1755. Lieut-Col. John Smock served in the American Revolution as a Captain in Colonel Nathaniel Scudder's Monmouth NJ militia in 1777.2 He was taken prisoner at Bordentown on 8 May 1778.2 He was appointed Colonel of the Monmouth County militia in 1780.2 Lieutenant-Colonel, Monmouth Militia in 1780.2 Lieut-Col. John Smock was buried in the Cemetery on the road, between Holmdel & Red Bank, Monmouth County, New Jersey.3

     Jacques Cortelyou Sr. was born circa 1632. He immigrated arriving 1652; from the Netherlands as a private tutor for the children of Cornelius van Werckhoven. He relocated to New Utrecht, Long Island, New York, in 1657. He was applied, as the honorable Cornelius van Weckhoven's agent, to turn the abandoned estate of van Werckhoven into a city, which was granted (the city became known as "New Utrecht") on 16 January 1657. He married Neeltje Van Duyn before 1662. Jacques Cortelyou Sr. was a witness where Hendrick Matthyse Smock bought land on 16 January 1665 at New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York.1 Jacques Cortelyou Sr. was took the Oath of Allegiance to the King of England (and noted as being non-native and in this country for 35 years) between 26 September 1687 and 30 September 1687 at Kings County, New York.2

     Elizabeth Smock was born on 6 September 1785. She was the daughter of Hendrick Smock and Sarah Lane. Elizabeth Smock was baptized on 5 November 1785. As of 1 December 1808,her married name was Schanck. She married Peter V. Schanck on 1 December 1808. Elizabeth Smock witnessed the will of Hendrick Smock in 1814 at Freehold Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey; [To] wife, Sarah, horses and chair, one room with fireplace, firewood, looking glass, the negro girl, Lyd, 2 beds and bedding, household goods as she chooses; also $600 to be at her disposal. Eldest daughter, Elizabeth (wife of Peter P. Schenck), Sarah (wife of Tunis D. DuBois), Jane, (wife of Joseph Vanderveer), and Ann (wife of John Conover), each $1000, deducting thereof anything heretofore advance. Each legacy to be paid as they reach the age of 28. I have heretofore provided for two eldest sons, John and Aaron. To 3rd son, Garret, and the 4th son, Hendrick, all residue of my estate not disposed of. Garret to have 2/3 of benefit of said estate until Hendrick is 21, and then to be divided equally. Executors--three sons, John, Aaron and Garret. Witnesses--Aaron Pitney, Garrit G. Vanderveer, James Covert.1 Elizabeth Smock accompanied Peter V. Schanck when Peter relocated circa 1815 and came to reside in Miami River Valley, near, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.
