Hello, and thank you for visiting.

My name is Elizabeth Wilson Vandenberg and I am your author and host. By profession, I am a computer scientist. By vocation, I am a genealogist. I have been involved in genealogical research since 1984.

In the early days, I was not as rigorous about my documentation as I have learned to become. I have since studied several good books on genealogical research and documentation, including the following, which I highly recommend to anyone interested in family history research.
  • Greenwood, Val D. The Researcher's Guide to American Genealogy. Second edition. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Company, 1990.
  • Mills, Elizabeth Shown. Evidence! Citation and Analysis for the Family Historian. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Company, 1997.
  • Rubincam, Milton. Pitfalls in Genealogical Research. Salt Lake City: Ancestry Incorporated, 1987.
  • Stevenson, Noel C. Genealogical Evidence: A Guide to the Standard of Proof Relating to Pedigrees, Ancestry, Heirship and Family History. Revised edition. Laguna Hills, California: Aegean Park Press, 1989.
All of the information that you find on this site will be thoroughly documented. I will present nothing that is not backed up by a citation. If conflicting evidence is found, it will be documented as such.
