George (X) Langford 1 Sept 1780 May Ct. 1782 O 3/143

My tract of land is to be divided among my four sons John, George, Kerby, and Joab Langford, and my son John is to take care of his mother during her lifetime. If any of my sons should die underage, this land will be equally divided among the surviving brothers. Daughter Delilah - bed. When my son Joab becomes twenty-one, my personal estate is to be sold and proceeds divided among my wife and all my children.

Wife Martha Landford-all my property for her lifetime. Daughter Delia Rose-25 acres of land adj. William Hagood and William Duke, containing the house and spring where she now lives. Daughter Polly H. Rose-25 acres containing the house where she now lives. Son John D. Langford-55 1/2 acrs adj. Delia Rose, Polly H. Rose and Michael W. Paschall. Daughter Sarah Langford-55acres adj. Daniel Tucker and William Davis. Daughter Martha H. Langford-55 acres adj. Daniel Tucker and John E. Tucker. Daughter Mahala W. Langford-55 acres containing the houses and spring adj. John Tucker. Daughter Ailcy T. Langford-55 acres adj John E. Tucker. Son Benjamin D. Langford-55 acres adj. John E. Tucker and Michael W. Paschall. The rest of my children shall have a bed each. etc. All property loaned to my wife shall be divided among my children at her death.

Richard Towns

Will proved on oaths of David Thomas and Presley Langford; Kemp Plummer Plummer refused to qualify as exr. and administration was grtd. Robert R. Johnston at the request of widow, Aug. Ct. 1809. The Will was challenged in a petition by Peter Towns, ____ Towns, Zach. Branscomb and wife Masey, Wm. McMasters and wife Rebecca, Solo. Towns, Labon Towns and Wm. Hicks as grdn to the minor children of Richard Towns, May Ct. 1810.

Raleigh Langford Administration grtd. Thomas Wilson, Nov. Ct. 1825. Years provisons allotted the widow Betsy Langford, Nov. Ct. 1825.


John Langford, Jr.

Will proved on oath of Abner Sears; George Wortham swore to the writing of William White, who lived out of the state; Martha Langford and John Wortham qualified as exrs. Aug. Ct.. 1828.


Thomas Newman

Will proved on an oath of John H. Hawkins; Daniel Newman and Job Langford qualified as exrs. Nov. Ct.1828. John Langford Division of lands (no details), May Ct. 1832.
