        COLONIAL WARS   1607-1763

The LDS library has microfilmed most of The Colonial Wars records that
are available. These are found in the Family History Library Catalog under

[STATE] - MILITARY RECORDS
[STATE], [COUNTY] - MILITARY RECORDS
[STATE], [COUNTY], [CITY] - MILITARY RECORDS

Colonial War records are also scattered within the colonial state records.
Many colonists served in local militias...because these were local units
and not part of the British Army, any surviving records are in historical societies
and state libraries and archives. When searching for an ancestor during the
colonial period comb all local records available while keeping an eye open for
mention of military service. During the Colonial Wars men that were disabled were
supported by the town they lived in since the English Government didn't extend
disability payments to the men in the Colonies.
