Shot while walking beside buggy near Medicine Lodge, Kansas Mary: "Wore black dresses and shawls and upright posture. -like "Whistler's Mother". Rode a horse a 1000 miles to meet her brother from Penn.  The last time they met." Mary married William Chatfield in April, 1906.  He died 12-Dec-1936
