This is a curious country, this United States of America. We occupy a great part of the land mass of the North American continent and the greater part of our population comes from somewhere else. We are immigrants or the children of immigrants. This is a country so diverse in its heritage we find it difficult to know its whole history. We celebrate our differences and revel in our cultural traditions. We also disdain our differences and disregard our cultural traditions. We are a curious people.

The fastest growing hobby in this country is searching for our personal links to the past. We want to know who our ancestors were, where they came from, how they got here, why they came here, what they did when they got here. We want to know about the moments that made up the lives of those who came before us. We want to know the moments of pride and glory. We want to know the moments of tragedy and despair. We want to know the moments of love and commitment. We want to know the stories.

I am the grandchild and great grandchild of immigrants. My American stories are many and diverse but my search for the stories quickly takes me across the "big pond" to the warmth of southern Italy and crispness of northwestern England.

This web site is dedicated to those in my family who packed up their kids and their stuff and set out to find a better life in this United States of America.

Acknowledgements

My thanks go to everyone, family and friends-of-family, whose research and willingness to share have helped to get me this far in my quest. My thanks go to the several civil employees both here and abroad who have given of their time to "find" information for me. My thanks go to the organizations, both private and civil, and the many, many family historians for their heroic efforts to amass and organize information so precious to genealogical researchers. My thanks go to my sister, Lynda, who puts in a lot of time doing those "techie" things that make this web site possible.

Let us know if you fit in somewhere. However, keep in mind this family web site represents research contributed by others as well as the database owner. Not all research has been verified by the database owner, so view with a skeptical eye.
Don't forget to leave a message in the guestbook...
We really want to know if you were here.
