About Our Family
Hello! My name is Carol Hepburn. Welcome to my website for our home schooling and family history. Feel free to browse through the pages on this website.
I was born and raised on the East coast, but I have spent the majority of my life living in California and Arizona. I consider myself to be a transplanted Midwesterner because I spent my formative years in school in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois (I have that distinctive Midwestern accent).
I currently live in Phoenix, Arizona, where I teach English Composition and Literature courses at Grand Canyon University. I also teach English Composition and Communication courses at Arizona Christian University. My education includes a Bachelors degree in Humanities, a Masters degree in English Literature, and partial credit toward a PhD in Communication. I hope to graduate from Regent University’s School of Communication and the Arts in May, 2017.
I home schooled my son (now 21) through high school using Ambleside Online and a smattering of other curriculum. He is a Junior in college now and is studying Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance at Arizona State University. He hopes to graduate next May. His current interests include music and performance (go figure!) He plans to attend graduate school, but at this time, he is unsure what he would like to study or do with his life (LOL!)
In addition to my son, our home also includes two very fat cats and one large goldfish.
You can read my blog here (to follow my journey through doctoral studies) or visit my online teaching portfolio page here (if interested).
