Welcome to the Little Red School House! This
website belongs to Carol
Hepburn, a home schooling Mom and family
history buff. I am so glad that you found my site
and have stopped by to look it over. I have been home
schooling since 2004 and have created a number of schedules,
organizational methods and other
handy helpful tools to try and
keep our schooling running smoothly. You are welcome
to browse and download any of my files and use them for your
home school. |
Getting Started
There is a lot of information on these pages and it is easiest
to use our handy Search Engine below for quick results.
Just type in the word, phrase or even your family surname and
it will look through all the pages on this site and bring back
a listing of possible matches. If you are looking for something
specific but cannot find it, drop me an email!
My Family Tree
If you have found my website because of another genealogy search
engine, you can see my Online Family Tree
database. I am not working on my tree anymore (just stuck!)
and cannot really answer any personal research questions. Feel
free, however, to browse through my 12,000+ member database and
hopefully it might help you make some new connections.

Take a Peek Into Our Home School
Our home school will probably look very different from
your home school. We don't have a school room and
we don't keep regular school hours. We don't even
use textbooks! Our school is based on the educational
philosophy of Charlotte Mason
and as such we read from many, many living books!
This makes for a very fun, low-key, and unusual schooling
experience.
We have been using Ambleside
Online as well as other living books since 2004.
We use A Beka and BJUP Science textbooks as well as CIMT's
FREE Math Program called MEP (Mathematics Enhancement
Program, K-9). We use Rosetta Stone for Foreign Language
(free through our local library) as well as other free resources
found online or at our library.
My son is currently in 9th Grade at Areté
Classical Christian Academy (our home school). We plan
on following Ambleside Online's House of Education for Y10-12.
We are committed to using CM's
methods for life-long learning and feel that it is one
of the BEST educational methods for home schooling.
If you would like to take a peek into our school and see
how we do an actual day of scheduling/reading, click
here. Feel free to email
me with questions or comments -- I would be happy to
tell you more about our home school and why we like Charlotte
Mason and the Ambleside ONline curriculum.
