These are the youngest six children of John Daniel and Sarah Alice Elam. John Daniel and Sarah had 12 children together (the youngest died at birth in 1906). The oldest four are not included and the last two are not yet born. The photo was probably taken about 1901 based on the age of the youngest child in the photo. This picture was taken at the homeplace in Union county Illinois. Notice the old touring car in the background, the large black felt hat on John Daniel's knee, and the long housedresses the women are wearing. I think that they are a very distinguished couple.
