A company by the name of Heritage Books has
a website at http://www.hb-archives.com/indexmas.htm where you can run
(for free) a search of their extensive database of books by surname. I
ran one for Elam and found 88 listings in 23 separate books. The following
is a list of the books which purportedly contain mentions of various Elams.
After this is the "index" which gives the name of the particular Elam mentioned
in the book, the code and the page number in the book at which that Elam
is mentioned. I am not suggesting that everyone run out and buy books from
Heritage, but if you can't find them at your local library or family history
library and you don't think you can live without them, at least now there's
a way of getting your hands on them. I hope these will help.
