I am trying to locate information on Jabez and Nacy (Nancy?) DARLING and their son Ezra Darwin DARLING. According to Suzanne's research (summerized below) Jabez died in Huron County in 1836. Ezra was the son of Jabez and Nacy DARLING. Jabez was born 1776-1784 and died before Sept. 1836. Ezra had several older brothers and sisters. Jabez is in census records as follows- NY 1810 Brutus, Cayuga Co.; NY 1820 at Locke, Cayuga Co. as well as at Seneca, Ontario Co. From Huron County, Ohio deeds, I learned that Jabez died at Florence, Huron Co., Ohio. I have not been able to find Jabez's parentage.

Looking for information about Epenetus STARR and his son Cyrenius STARR. Epenetus and Cyrenius came from New York but Epenetus was born in Danbury, Fairfield County, CT on 24 Mar 1772. Not sure where Cyrenius was born. Epenetus and Cyrenius both lived, died and are buried in Huron County, along with their wives and some of their children. I have not been able to locate Cyrenius in the 1830 and 1840 census records. Epenetus is also missing from the 1840 census records. I "know" they were in Ohio, possibly Richland County. I can only surmise that the census records have made a mess of their STARR surname

Jeanne Gaylord Look Up Results - About Epenetus STARR and his son Cyrenius STARR. Those aren't the run of the mill given names! I'm sorry but they aren't among the many, many STARRs listed in the index of Family Tree CD #450 County and Family Histories OH, 1780-1970. The name seems to be very prominent in about every Ohio county. An article in Pioneer Women of the Western Reserve states, " the STARR's were from Danbury Conn., but Raymond came in 1829 from Catskill N.Y. where he had been a merchant in a general store. "

Michelle ? Look Up Results - Just a FYI about the where abouts of the STARR family. Danbury, CT is very near Catskill, NY, so it is likely that the same family could have members in both places.

If anyone runs across Israel STALEY/STEALY etc., his wife Louisiana (Lucy Ann) HELTMAN and their children Joseph, Almyra, Latarious, Mary Ann and Jeremiah, please let me know. I've been having such trouble with them! I know they lived in Clarksfield Township in 1850 and Cass Township in 1860, then disappeared. I also have not been able to identify his parents, but census says he was born in PA.

Randi Bowles-Meentzen Look Up Results - You might also want to visit the USGenWeb Lorain County, Ohio site. There is STARR information on that site as they came over from Connecticut & New York as settlers of "New Connecticut. The border areas of a county are always a good place to search. I have realized not to limit my family searching to counties as the boundaries changed more than once in regards to Huron, Lorain, Ashland and Richland Counties.

I am trying to find information on Joseph DARLING & Joseph DARLING, Jr. of Huron County, Ohio. Does anyone know of this DARLING line? I am also trying to figure out why Jabez DARLING of New York would be in Huron County, Ohio when he died. He died sometime before September 1836 in Florence, Huron County, Ohio. Apparently there is a will or probate record. His son Ezra Darwin DARLING was born in Ontario County, New York in June of 1830. Ezra died in Washington County, Iowa and is buried in the Keota Cemetery, Keokuk County, Iowa.

William Whitson Look Up Results - One of my ancestors from Huron County, Elizabeth Ann EDWARDS, was married first to Joseph DARLING and had two children by him. However, they are a deadend. Joseph DARLING died October 19, 1831. Their daughter born in Sandusky on November 6, 1828, died February 6, 1831. Their son, Chauncey Edwards DARLING, was born September 27, 1830 in New Haven, Huron Co. and died July 26, 1836. As I have not looked into Joseph at this point, I do not know whether he was the Jr. to whom you referred. My information comes from our BACON Family Bible.
