Upon visiting the Huron County rootsweb site today, I found burial records for several MCCAGUEs on page 10 of the Huron county cemetery book. Would some kind soul who has a copy of that book be willing to tell me which cemetery this would be and the DOD's for Rosanna and Thomas MCCAGUE.

My 4th ggf, Jonathan BROWN, reportedly died 1841 in Norwalk, Huron, OH at age 92. He moved to Ohio in 1838 from PA. He was a Rev War veteran. Is/was there a headstone or death record for him? If so, what does it show and who else was buried in his plot? Jonathan had two identified sons, Jonathan, Jr., and Lewis S. Jonathan, Jr. reportedly died in Milan, OH in 1839 at about age 54 and had lived in that area since about 1815. Lewis S. apparently never lived in Ohio. Jonathan, Jr. and his wife Phebe (TIFFANY) had children Allen, Nelson, Erastus, George, William, Alfred, Lorinda (m. DEGRAFF), and Sarah Ann (m. GARDNER). Would very much appreciate any info concerning the above. I have census info but cannot place Jonathan, Sr. in 1840.

Patti O'Dell Look Up Results - I looked through the Huron County, Ohio Cemetery inscriptions book for you. Here is what I found- 1. There are several John BROWNs (none Jonathan). 2. There is one listed on page. 462, for Brown Cemetery. Here is what it reads- "Brown Cemetery, also called Pickrin's Corners Cemetery, is located in the northeast corner of Lot 17, Section 1, Township 4, Range 22, Norwalk Twp., on the west side of Laylin Road, 500 feet south of SR 18, just two miles east of Norwalk. This neighborhood cemetery was owned for years by John BROWN, and is shown on the 1859 wall map and in the 1873 atlas. In 1856, the Jones, Layline and Roberts stones were removed to Woodlawn Cemetery; and in January 1878, the Fowler, Schoolcraft, and BROWN stones were also taken to Woodlawn Cemetery. In the early 1900's, oldtimers recall stones still on the site, but nothing remains today. Courtesey, Henry R. Timman." 1. Jones, Caroline, d. 23 Jun 1851. 2. Jones, Nathan d. 9 Mar 1855. 3. I'm trying to find out when my grandmother's family lived in Norwalk. My grandmother was Leona P. KELLER. I know they were there between 1913 and 1916, but I don't know when they arrived (presumably from Zanesville or that area) nor when they left (presumably for Sandusky - they were definitely in Sandusky in the 1940s). The parents were Charles E(li) KELLER and Ethel L. CONN KELLER. I have a newspaper clipping from my grandmother's engagement (early 1916), giving the family's address as 19 West Chestnut Street. I have another clipping, a few months later, from their marriage (rescheduled from June to April), giving the address as Walnut Street (no number). They were married at the Presbyterian study by Rev. A. J. Funnell. The groom (my grandfather) was (Clarence) Humphrey PHILLIPS, son of Mrs. William F. PATTERSON of Summit Street. The PATTERSONs were from New Castle, PA, and at some point returned there. Another mystery. Humphrey was employed by the L. Oppenheimer Co. - don't know what that was, either. And and all information about these families would be greatly appreciated.

We live in CA and will be leaving Wednesday morning for a trip that will take us briefly through Norwalk. Is there someplace there (The Norwalk Library?) that we can find the book "Huron County, OH Cemetery Inscriptions" published by the Huron County Chapter of OGS, 1997"? We have found my husband's GGGrandparents (and other family members) listed on Rootsweb, but we don't know which cemetery or where it may be located. The family is CARTER, Otis G., page 568, Otis G. Jr., page 568, Julia BERRY, page 568, and others.

Thanks to Michelle Posner who found Matthias FRITZ's brother, Fred H. FRITZ's, biography I was able to pinpoint a couple more names. Does anyone have a Josephine FRITZ who married a Benjamin MILLER? Also I have found out for sure what I was guessing all along, that Anthony FRITZ was a younger brother of Matthias and according to the 1880 census he married a Mary and they had at least two kids Mary and Herman. Does anyone have connections to these names? And for the record, the exact town Matthias was born in was Reutte, Baden, Germany. Matthias and his brother Anthony were blacksmiths as were Matthias' sons Frank and Ralph.
