While in Salt Lake recently, I found the deed recorded when my gg-grandfather, William H. TAYLOR, sold some land in Huron County to Micager WRIGHT. The deed does not mention the name of the township, but it does give a description of the property as follows: "...the following premises situate in the County of Huron in the State of Ohio and in Section two, and bounded and described as follows: Ten acres n the West side of the East half of the North Eighty acres of Lot five, in said township, bounded West by Daniel Freeman, North by townline, on the South by lands deeded by Henry TAYLOR to George HIGLEY."My question is, is this land located in Clarksfield? As I mentioned, the deed never mentions the town. William was living in Clarksfild in the 1850 census. Marilyn Lane Mountain View, CA

Let's see if anyone can connect with my LOVE's and SMITH's. Elmira LOVE's death cert lists her birthplace as Ohio, 1832, father as Rufus LOVE, b NJ; mother Clarisa A. BOWERS, b America (1880 Miami Co OH census includes Elmira and lists mother's birthplace as Long Island, NY). Her sister, Mary Elizabeth PARK(E) was the informant on the death. Elmira LOVE married Jared SMITH (born Morris Co NJ, abt 1814), in Monroe Co., MI in 1848, had 8 children in various places in W. OH between 1851 and 1875, died in Piqua, Miami Co., OH in 1912. Jared was injured during the Civil War and died at the Soldiers' Home in Dayton OH in 1881 and is buried in the National Cemetery in Dayton. An older Jared SMITH, also born NJ, is identified as a vet of the War of 1812, and is buried in Monroe Co., MI, and is listed as having land grants in Monroe and Wayne Co., MI. (Perhaps father or uncle.) Mary Elizabeth LOVE was born in New Haven, Huron Co., OH abt 1829. Her first husband, details unknown, died of injuries received in the CW, although it's not known when. She next married George W. PARK, who died in 1875 in Miami Co. Her daughter, Lilly M., was born in 1868, which husband was the father not known. Mary died in Piqua in 1929 a few months short of 100 years old. Both were in Piqua before 1879. Rufus LOVE, with 4 children, is in the 1830 OH census in New Haven Twp, Huron Co., OH, page 389. In 1840 he is in Norwalk Twp, Huron Co, Page 442, with 6 children. He is not listed after 1840. Since his daughter, Elmira was married in Monroe Co in 1848, I'm betting the family moved from Huron Co OH to Monroe Co. after the 1840 census. I wouldn't be surprised if Mary's first marriage to unknown, took place in Monroe Co.
