Nathan was my gr-gr-gr grandfather. His wife was Abigail Dodge Munson, and according to an old family letter, they had 10 children. Caroline Munson married James White in Huron County in 1823, and they were my great great grandparents. They had 14 children. James died in 1848 while Caroline was pregnant with her 14th child. James is buried in the Butterfield Cem. The Nathan Munson family came to New London area in 1817 from prob. Brighton, New York. His brother, Simeon, reportedly came to the area in 1816,and one source mentions the fall of 1815. There was a barn raising (referred to as a house raising by another source) for Nathan, and reportedly Simeon was killed during the 'raising'. I'd like to have information on this. In one of the articles in 'Just Like Old Times', it mentions the raising and I think the story is also included of a person owing Simeon some money. Simeon approached the man about paying the debt, there was an argument, etc. After Simeon's death, the man testified that he paid it. And the story ended that afterwards he became a lively Morman. Could you locate the information about the barn raising for me? I'd like to have the details. Also any other pertinent information about Simeon and Nathan? Also I have a copy of an old family letter that says: "Aunt Caroline was the oldest of ten children of Nathan and Abigail Dodge Munson"..written by Clara Ames Jenne, daughter of Cynthia Munson Ames. I need to have another source that gives this information in order to go back another generation to prove that Nathan and Abigail Dodge are Caroline's parents for First Families. (The Munson Record, Vol 4, pub 1987, gives that Caroline is the dau of Nathan and Abigail, but it is probably from the old familly records.) Caroline Munson and James White were married 1823 in Huron County. They are already proven.

The James Cole/Mary Tibbes genealogy is carried forward with very good documentation in the 1908 book "The Descendants of James Cole of Plymouth" by Ernest Byron Cole. This is a very popular book and practically a "Bible" of Cole's for researchers. Except for the primary confusion over which James and which Mary, the continuation of the line is fairly accurate, considering the period in which the research took place. Pam Thompson, who contributes regularly to the COLE list, is rewriting and updating this line, correcting many of the mistakes and type-o's that EB made.

> We are looking for any information about Isaac DeWitt who married Marion Hastings of Sandusky City sometime around 1870. She is listed in the 1870 Erie County census. We could not find any information about an Isaac DeWitt in Sandusky. Isaac and Marion were the parents of John C., my grandfather, and Jean. There is a listing for an Isaac E. DeWitt buried in Riverside Cemetery, Ridgefield. Could this be the Isaac we are looking for? Were they married in Huron County? Thank you for any help.

I am looking for the family and birthdate for Balm Robison. The only thing I have to go on is a marriage license from Hancock County WV in 1927. ( He married Zanna Cunningham) His age is listed as 47 making his birth year around 1880. Some of the facts on the certificate are suspect, but the best I can tell is that Balm (sp?) was born in Huron County and was living in Weirton WV at the time of this marriage. Any information appreciated. Dan C

There are two Bethuel Cole's in my line. I don't have much information on either of them, but this is what I have. Some of this data has been verified through records and existing documents, but some is suspect: the marriage dates of Bethuel, Jr's. children are questionable. There should be more information available on Thomas McCague in Huron Co, as well as on Bethuel Jr. and Attrusha. Be advised that not all vital records in Norwalk, OH, have been transcribed I don't have any information concerning Amy Cole (is this a nickname for her in later life?) Could this be Amanda with a second marriage? I like to keep my information updated on this line and as thorough as possible; please advise me of any corrections or additions. Bethuel Cole; b.
