Desire Information on William McKELVEY, b. 1756 Chester Co. Pa., d. 1840 Huron Co. Oh. married Mary TOPPINGS. Had 10 Children: Jane, b. 1787, Sarah, b. 1789, William, b. 1791, m. Saloma ASHLEY, Mathew, b. 1794 m. Nancy ADAMS, Margaret, b. 1796 m. James EARL, James, b. 1798 m. Sally FALVIN, Agness, b. 1800, Robert, b. 1801, Elizabeth, b. 1803, and Mary Ann, b. 1807. The children were all born in Westmoreland Co. Pa. except for Mary Ann. Willian McKELVEY was a veteran of the Rev. War. He supposely gave his leg for the cause.

Harvey and his wife, Sarah Dunning WATERS arrived in Huron Co, OH, between 1836-1840, with their infant son Thaddeus, from Cayuga Co, NY. In 1841, they had another son, Theron D., born in PERU. He was followed by a sister, Caroline born in 1846. They lived there until sometime in 1853 when they moved to MI. The last year in Huron County, Thaddeus taught school in the common school. Would like to locate any information about this family's life in Huron County. Have much to share on the brothers. Some on the rest of the family.

I am searching for William BUCK who was born in Huron Co. in 1820 or 1821. His father was John BUCK. John may have been a "fire sufferer" from the war of 1812. William married Arvilla CURTIS (from Vermont, her Dad was Luther CURTIS). They eventually ended up in California, where William died in 1893. I am researching the family of William W. WELLS and his wife Elizabeth, surname unknown. She was born on November 13, 1832 in Norwalk "in a log cabin across from the GIBBS estate at the end of Marshall St." Their children (not necessarily in order of birth) George Washington b. 2/15/1852 in Norwalk (my great-grandfather), m. Elizabeth MEASLEY 4/6/1872, Albert m. Margaret, Harry m. Clara, William, Augusta, Eloise m. Thomas EVANS, and Katherine Louella m. L.B. GEBHARDT. George Washington WELLS and Elizabeth MEASLEY had: Eugen b. 1872 and died young, Robert George b. 1875 m. Fannie Mae OSBORN, John W b. 1878 m. Etta TICE, and Grace Elizabeth b. 1891 m. Roy C. SHEPHERD of Burlington, Iowa. William W. WELLS came from England, fought in the Civil War and worked for the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad. His son George Washington WELLS was superintendent of the Standard Sewing Machine Company in Cleveland, a member of the "Old Famous Rescue Hook and Ladder Company which won the world championship at Chicago", was Knight Templar of Cleveland and died in the flu epidemic in 1918. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk. Help with any of these families would be appreciated.
